You might have a look at Fox Brothers' heavy overcoating, e.g. this 34 oz. midnight-navy.
Not a herringbone, but a lot of texture, lovely for a winter coat:

Hainsworth produces some heavy fabrics containing nylon, e.g. their duffle cloth.

No tailor I have spoken to likes the cloth by Hainsworth, too plain it seems.

I'll be taking a few of these samples to my tailor next month and seeing what he would like to work with.
