Hardy shirtings for daily business use

Gents,

I am about to have 6-8 shirts made up for business wear. Whites, blues, white and blue stripes: nothing to scare the horses.

I am looking for a shirting that will wash and wear well over a numbers of years, and won’t crease overly by the end of a long day.

I am inclined towards Thomas Mason as I’ve had good experiences with RTW in Mason from the now-shuttered Australian brand Herringbone. I am looking at the Portland 120/2s although I would gratefully accept recommendations of another line or another mill.

I don't know what fits that description in the SIC Tess or Alumo lines. Your maker should know.

In the more off-center mills, Bonfanti's Capri line is quite sturdy and solid (construction-wise, anyway). bonfantitessuti.it
Otherwise, an Irish linen can do good service.

I have always thought the idea of wearing linen in colder months is a bit unusual, but I am open to persuasion otherwise....
