I was at the Neue Galerie in New York on Monday and struck by a fine early 20th-century aluminum mantel clock designed by Viennese architect Hans Prutscher, brother of Otto Prutscher who was associated with the Wiener Werkstätte. The clock was made for the Milek tailor shop, designed by Hans Prutscher. I could not get a direct photo of the clock, which was quite striking, but here is a photo in a catalog of the museum:

And here are two images of the shop. The upper one shows the clock in situ:
Fascinating to see a tailor shop given such avant-garde design treatment. Quite a tribute!
Hans Prutscher's designs for Milek tailor shop, Vienna
The way it should be. None of this ancient oak panelling that was only installed yesterday. As an architect, I would love to receive a commission to design a contemporary tailor's premises!

Thanks for the inspiration. Just ordered a book about the Wiener Werkstätte

in this case I recommend a trip to Vienna to see the still existing Knize shop, Graben 13. Go as long as the old Mr Niedersüsz is alive. Nobody knows what will happen to this shop once he is gone.
Cheers, David
MAK museum in Vienna has a good collection of Jugendstil furniture and other material objects. Many of them are made by Wiener Werkstätte.
They have a very detailed online version as well: https://sammlung.mak.at/en/collection_o ... Jugendstil (though comparing what I see on the web and what I saw during my visit, I realize no image can replace a real thing).
