They're expensive, and some of them are very good. I sampled a bunch-- enough that I am now having trouble remembering which were the notable successes. I should have stayed with merino from T&A or The Hanger Project (and Bresciani linen for the summer), just to keep things simple. Socks aren't worth getting stressed over, and there are simpler ways to solve the problem.

How true.

I buy socks from pretty much anywhere I find myself trying to kill time while shopping with Mrs M.

Lately acquired some 100% cape mohair (out of curiosity as much as anything) short socks. Very comfortable indeed over a long day on your feet.

And fairly cheap.

Thank you gentlemen for the feed back.I thought so their price is higher compared with Bresciani(exchange rate MRM-USD).Could you say the quality of both are equivalent?

Different animals. Abraham models have a lot of exotic fibers, and slightly unusual weaves. Very nice indeed. Bresciani is also very good, but more conventional in its lineup. [Once you leave the linens behind, there are a number of other decent sources for daily staples.]

So, if you found the perfect Abraham model for you and could afford to get a few dozen in the necessary colors, life would be fine. Until then, though, you have to peer into your dark greys drawer and remember which are cashmere, which are cashmere and silk, which are pure silk, or wool blends, etc. Then you have to remember which one had shrunk too much, and then decide which of the others would fit best with the occasion you're dressing for. Ask your valet to work out a chart and all will go well. Otherwise, you've definitely got a first world problem on your hands.

That said, if you can restrict yourself to purchasing just one or two pairs, and would actually get pleasure from wearing them, then go for it. There's some very nice stuff in their catalogue.

through your experience which fibers (among those mention) shrinks faster or the shrinking process has to do during washing.
