Murtadza , I know you directed the question to Michael but as I live most the time in such temperature I would say that there are so many other better choices of fabric to unline for the summer ... Brisa , piuma , linen ...all here in the cloth club !!!

Thank you,Vassilis,for the answer.i wanted to know does unlined tweed jacket wears cooler the the lined tweed.If I can still recall that Mr.Alden wears and introduced such AN UNLINED tweed jacket in the SARTORIA VACATION column .again if I not wrong, the picture taken was outside and in bright sunlight,so my assumption was/is that such a jacket is wearable in such condition(eg:late Spring/early to mid summer).Please put me in a better perspective.

I think you can safely assume that said picture was taken for show and Michael forgot the disclaimer
Of course, everything including a tweed wears a little lighter if unlined. However, tweed simply looks out of place when temperatures go above 18°C and in tropical climate. Enjoy linen, brisa, solaro & co

I do most of my suit jackets and sport coats half lined. I really don't see any utility of lining at the back if fabric is heavy enough (that's why i like cloth club fabric, heavy enough, breathes and drapes very well).
Un unlined coat is much more sexy and keeps much cooler indoors. Some may say it's not good for business wear etc but frankly there's no difference between unlined or lined coat in that resoect.
If you pick a 240gr fabric then you need it in order to have a good shape, this is the paradox of current summer fabrics in the market; they are very light so you have to get a lining but if you get lining it will keep hot...

Vassilis, late congratulations on your coat! I also wear mine a lot with odd trousers - they are always darker, quite inevitably with that cloth.

I am yet to try an unlined Shetland or tweed - I did ask myself "why?" (and couldn't come up with any good answer), but never "why not?". I guess it's just different(ial in your case, dfoverdx2 )
