When is cold wear Harris ..

It has been cold in Athens with plenty of snow lately and when one has no got his hands on some of LL fox flannels yet, Harris is a good alternative ... By the way it's safe to go unlined even with a 570gr/m cloth like this one !

The lighter colored jacket with darker trousers combination is often misunderstood and underutilized. It can be very chic.

I often will make up a light colored tweed suit with the express purpose of using it as an odd jacket.

Lovely coat and you wear it so well!
I've never done an unlined coat myself in a winter fabric, it should feel like a sweater.
I hope the LL CC will produce some heavy herringbone Donegal to make it unlined

you have good reasons for both . This is a beautiful cloth, made up very well and you wear it perfectly.

As Michael says, the light colour coat with dark trousers is under-utilised, but challenging to get right in my experience. Your combination is perfect!

David, I´m glad to hear that I´m not the only one struggling with this. Darker top/lighter bottom comes very natural to me, but nailing down the opposite combination somehow eludes me. Most of the time it makes me feel too casual and underdressed (although I recognize that at the same time it makes me look younger, which is not a bad thing ).

what is doing the trick with Vassilis is the simple dark tie which is balancing the dark trousers. In Michael's picture, the ascot scarf and hat have the same effect. I will try again

David and Hectrom ..the thing is that I never thought about it as a particularly challenging task. maybe out of ignorance !! I believe that's why it comes out right . I ve read here in the LL, , heard and experienced other tricky matches to be aware of , like mixing patterns ... I sometimes get them wrong maybe when I get over conscious about them . I honestly did not have the information you are sharing with us that morning .. I just went with my feeling !

A true mid gray trouser can easily take a darker or lighter shade of jacket. Dress to wear a dark jacket with this shade of trouser, then replace the dark coat with a lighter one. Nine times out of ten, the result is just dandy.

Unlined tweed coats can be slightly more challenging to put on as they tend to stick a bit; but once they are on, they feel like lovely sweaters. I almost always do my Shetland tweeds unlined.

Murtadza , I know you directed the question to Michael but as I live most the time in such temperature I would say that there are so many other better choices of fabric to unline for the summer ... Brisa , piuma , linen ...all here in the cloth club !!!
