Exactly! And this is one of the features I like the most on the Fox white flannel. The trousers never look new, not even on the first day. The ivory tinge makes the trousers look like they had been waiting many years for you to rescue them from the bottom of your trunk.

What buttons did you choose for your cream trousers and waistcoat? bone, mother of pearl, shell, corozo, horn, even metal... I can see many valid options, depending on the intended use. Buttons that are similar to the colour of the cloth for the trousers; on the waistcoat contrasting buttons are also an option - something that ideally goes well with both brown and blue jackets. My main choice would be bone, but I remember those sold by Button Queen looking a bit bulky/'ethnic'. Mother of pearl would be my second choice.

The cloth feels great! I chose contrasting back-lining for the waistcoat, as I usually do with everything that is not black. No one will ever see it, but to my eye dark chocolate was the best complement for this warm shade of cream.

I chose a matte and matching ivory in... difficult to say. It could be horn or bone or corozo - I need to ask my button lady. Shell is also a good option. I would not recommend mother of pearl - the material is too fragile for trousers (I have them on two pairs, because they look so bloody perfect with the material, but it is a constant pain with replacing broken ones).

Regarding the waistcoat: I would use contrasting buttons on a second one. The first one has to be discreet and blend in with many combination. Ivory waistcoats are among the most versatile.

I have to confess that I did not give much thought to the buttons when I ordered this second pair of Fox white flannels. Mine are a yellowish ivory color and I´m almost sure (but not completely) they are bone. Now that you mentioned it, they look a bit bulky indeed. I wear my flannels with a belt so the only buttons that show are through the 2 back pockets.

Thank you for taking the time to have a look in your wardrobe and for the advice. I was at the shop today and chose corozo. I recommend everyone having Fox Bros. flannel made up check corozo for the buttons - also known as 'vegetable ivory', in this shade it matches the cloth really well. Thinner than bone and horn, it's always my first choice for trousers.
