Fabric tips for new bespeakers
I started with dark blue horn buttons on my Mistral blazer, but switched over to plain antique silver buttons. (Couldn't find a similarly dark kind of bronze.) They make it look less like an orphaned suit jacket while not being so obviously contrasting as to be irritating.
What we need is a London Lounge blazer button!!
After spending a lot of time(and money) on different materials and weights I find what works very well is a combination of wool and mohair, but not too light. If you travel alot it seems to be the perfect cloth as it always looks sharp. However its clear most tailors dont like it - perhaps its because it lasts so long.
Dr T., thanks for the tip. What do you mean by 'not too light'? And how does wool+mohair compare to fresco?
By weight over 10oz - I am normally around 12oz plus. For my use this seems the best for minimal creasing and it always looks sharp. However I have just been pursuaded by my tailor to go for an all wool suit as my next investment - we will see how this pans out.
