If you do know of these £1k tailors, and as they would be very relevant to your argument, why not let us in on the secret now, rather than save them until another post?

Because I don't think I should sully another tailor's reputation by including them in this thread? And besides, why is it relevant to my argument? Do you know the point I'm making?

And there's no 'secret' like you put it. They're used by a few on this forum.

Nobody knows how the interior will look, but look at that sheer dedication? And on novices, 'tailors' might gain nothing from spending a bit of extra time and effort to fit somebody properly, but should that matter to the outcome of the coat, with respect to fundamental issues of fit?
What do the photos you posted have to do with fundamental issues of fit? They show the interior of coat!

My point about GB is two fold (and I keep repeating it): (i) most customers (novices or not) will get a good fitting suit and (ii) assuming (i) is fulfilled their price point makes them good value.

There are no doubt unlucky customers out there who have received suits that they, in an ideal world, should not have been let out the door with. However, even these unlucky souls can go back and have the suits reworked. They should then as an end result get a decent fitting suit. In addition, their future commissions will fit even better. Remember they can get at least 3 GB suits for 1 SR.

I think law school has changed my thought process. I'm not so literal.

I think you have already sullied another tailor's reputation.

If you know better, why not tell us?

I am a lawyer myself, though not trained in English law (or logic) :D

For the fun of it -- if you can clearly articulate how my letting the so called 'secret' out of the bag will substantiate the point I've been making, I'll reveal the tailor.

That's easy: Your argument is that there are better value tailors out there at GB's price point. Prove it!

That wasn't my main argument? Where were you schooled in legal thinking again?

You have not argued that there are tailors out there (in London) that provide better quality at (or around) GB's price point?

Please read my post carefully. And re-read the recurrent points I've made.

I am not a lawyer, but I have spent a huge amount of my time over the years guiding lawyers into logical thought as opposed to their being stright-jacketed by the law.

MVM, you made a simple point that there were better tailors out there at about the same price as GB. Unless it was an idle comment that you used to merely add strength to your agrument, there is absolutely nothing to stop you sharing with us. By doing so, you will move this thread from lawerly semantics to something that others might benefit from.

That is "skirting" the issue (a classic non-argument that would have a logic lecturer reeling).

I see your argument that an "ideal" tailor should at all times do his very best for his customer, regardless of customer interest/input. But the real world does not work like that. Particularly not at the lowest price intervals of bespoke suit making. Thus, if one with a little more effort can get a well fitting suit for GBP 1000 instead of GBP 3000 then perhaps that is good value? And also assuming that most, if not all, inexperienced customers also will get a fairly good result then perhaps that is also good value?

But I am still very interested in what other tailors you would recommend at this price point. I saw you mentioned Steed before deleting it from your post.

I think we can all agree that "Charlatan Tailors" must eat too.
