Lightweight casual (hunter style?) manbag for traveling?

I opened a thread before about manbags which brought some good options:

But my problem is that the Ariel fishing bag by Brady bags, Chapman bags and Billingham camera bags are too heavy for traveling: around 1.4 kgs.

However, bags like the Patagonia bag are much lighter, only 0.7 kg:

Obviously the latter is not so stylish as the former.

So the question is where can you get best of both worlds: elegant style and light weight too?

I have one of these from Ally Capellino in waxed cotton, with a soft leather base. I'm very happy with it; I would consider it light weight, although I have no idea of the actual figure.

I'm rather partial to my Herring Draycott. They're sold out at the moment but I understand they're due in the next few months.

Sure, I asked for a casual bag but how acceptable are these mostly canvas bags we've been discussing all over this topic with an [any kind of] blazer? Or do I have to go with a leather bag for a blazer? But that's just not that practical for travel: too heavy!

I travel with my Brady Ariel bag all the time. I regularly have to travel intercontinentally for business, and I have never felt that it was too heavy. 700 grams really is not going to matter.

But, if one has to carry a bag for a weekend trip it will always be too heavy... Otherwise, there are carry-ons -- not so stylish, but surely lighter, very much lighter.

Sure, I meant that you have a full size cabin bang and next to it a canvas day bag.

The question is if the canvas day bag is appropriate for a nice suit or blazer as well or only with something like chinos and jeans?

When wearing a suit a leather bag would always be better, imho. With a blazer, I would consider canvas as well, since you could, as you point out, wear it if less formal trousers (and shoes, and shirts, and ties...).

But, as fast as my life goes, I would be glad if I could match suit, shoes and tie.

In fact, I am looking for a fine club bag for the golf club (one which golf shoes would not be in contact with the rest of the clothes), but haven´t found it yet.

I don't see this variation listed on the Swaine Adeney Brigg current site (it may be available as an option by request), but Sterling Burke in Washington, D.C. still lists the 19-inch SAB Cambridge weekend holdall with a separate zippered bottom compartment that's perfect for golf shoes. It's not cheap, and you would have to decide whether the storage area in your golf club would be safe and large enough not to damage the bag, but it certainly fits the "fine club bag" requirement.
