I haven't tried Harvie and Hudson, worth a try I guess.

Concordia, I've tried the Falke knee-lenth socks from socksfox; haven't tried DORÉ DORÉ though.

I think you might also want to try A. Gammarelli from Rome. I find their red or purple socks spectacular. In merino wool, they are warm and still very elegant. Size 13 US would be long enough and priced very reasonably. The only caveat is they could be a little on the thin side for Sweden.

Too bad there are only so few colors to choose from.

So we are back to square one. I guess that when it comes to reconcile good quality, variety of colors and tall sizes (let alone reasonable price), no solution is satisfactory in the current wool socks market. :(

My dear long-legged friends, I've made a breakthrough discovery!

I contacted Pakeman Catto & Carter to ask them about their new over the calf socks and received the following information:

Medium foot length 10.5" leg length 18.5"
Large foot length 11.5" leg length 19.5"

I took my measurements and swiftly ordered a pair in the large size, I received them today and they are absolutely marvelous! These are the longest over the calf socks I've ever found and the quality is great, they are a bit thicker than my previous favorite (Marcoliani) and very sturdy in their construction; albeit a 10% nylon increase. If you've found yourself dissatisfied with the offerings previously discussed I suggest you give these a try, the price is only £12 a pair!

Thank you Rewozz for the update. Very good to know.
I´m definitely a "big foot" too.
What about the color selection? That was one of you main concerns to disregard other brands.

They have a good color selection, although I think they could refine it considerably (e.g. flannel grey socks). They also have some splendid birdseye over the calf socks (priced only £15) which are quite rare. I'm just about to place a large order with navy as the base and then a few other colors and the birdseye variants. The charcoal pair I have received are quite dark, almost black; I picked them especially to see if they could be worn with my flannel slacks but I think I'll have to go with some of the birdseye socks instead to mix it up.

I wish you better luck than I had. I contacted PC&C and they are SOLD OUT in the large over the calf in all 3 colors I wanted (scarlet, blue and pink) :( .

That's terrible! I managed to get the following colors:

4 navy
1 blue
1 green
2 navy birdseye
1 green birdseye
1 lovat birdseye

I didn't dare to try scarlet and pink, but I'll be back next year!

Here's an update,

the Pakeman birdseye socks are much shorter than the regular line; beware! Fortunately Pakeman were very kind and refunded me for the birdseye socks, excellent service!

On a second note, I bought a pair of large sized Bresciani socks and they're great; the first pair I received was a gift so I didn't know they came in different sizes. They are thinner and not as substantial as the Pakeman socks, they're also a bit more expensive but they offer a much greater color variety. I'll be filling the gaps of the Pakeman colors with Bresciani.

I´m torn between giving you thanks for the socks-for-tall-people information or chastising you for showing us your hairy knees. :)

Good Lord, it is a bit much to expect the chap to shave when going above and beyond the call of duty! Many hirsute holders of the VC out there.

Yep, showing one´s hairy knees should be illegal and immediately reported to the VC police (which should be instated).
