The temptation to capitalise on a fine brand will never cease. I also see that Drakes is starting to sell RTW jackets and trousers. The "handmade tie in London" has come a long way.

Earlier this year I heard that A&S was considering opening a haberdasher, along the lines of the old Hayward store. Which of us who work in business can blame them for such a move, especially when there are so few places that their customers can buy accessories to wear with their suits - and Huntsman owns the main one, Budd?!

Hopefully it will help the business but it is mildly funny that the new A&S book to be officially published this week brags that they do not offer any sort of RTW or MTM. Someone apparently forgot to change the manuscript.

That will have to find its way into the second edition.

According to A&S, the new location will not be offering RTW or MTM tailored clothing. Accessories only. The other was a fiction of the real estate broker who posted the initial announcement.

Amazing how rumours are spread and perpetuated.

Some time ago I read... well, honestly a rumor that A&S is going to start offering bespoke shirts.

I wonder what happened with this project? (If it ever existed in the first place.)

I think the big question (and one we'll probably never fully know the answer to) is their staffing as they expand. Are the same bespoke workers now being asked to also make RTW items? Or have they hired and trained a new team specifically devoted to RTW including an overseer so Hitchcock can focus on the bespoke operations? Those are two very different scenarios and hopefully the latter is taking place here.

Good to know! Next time I'll read through the entire thread before posting! :^)
