Ok, so, I am currently in ownership of a tie pin, with a nice spiffy little sapphire in it (with a matching pair of cufflinks), which I bought to wear with a formal Ascot. The cravat has more or less gone into storage now, as I don't feel it's really right with the outfits I wear, but I would still like to use the tie pin when I'm being dressier, specifically with a gold tie.
My question is, what is the best way to wear a tie pin - should it go through the knot, or just through the body of the tie lower down (bear in mind, it will be worn with a cream waistcoat, so can't be too low), or perhaps worn another way?
Thanks.
Best way to wear tie pins.
Through the knot, salsatron, if you have the heart to stab your golden tie like that (it WILL ruin its structure with time)...
Thanks, I might work things out so that I tie it the same each time, and somehow make sure I put the tie pin through the same spot each time (it's unlikely to be a major issue though, as I will wear neither the tie nor the pin massively often).
And beware of negative thoughts when you stick that pin, you never know what charms the sapphire works!
