Did you find the time to visit my old Maestro? How was Rome?

Thank you for following up. I did not get to visit M. Gallo, which is a pity as he is located not that far from Caraceni. On the return end of my trip, I really had only one free day in Rome. That was occupied with an extra fitting at Caraceni and then the good fortune of running into a friend stopped at a traffic intersection, which turned into an extended lunch in another part of town. I hope to return next summer, and while I have already picked out the cloth for another Caraceni suit, I should be able to visit Via Flavia as well.
As for the remainder of your question, Rome was wonderful and I look forward to returning.

Litirico is a famous name in Roman tailoring. Fiorese is also worth a visit. And there are two or three other pearls on the list as well.

I post this part of a Rome list simply to show how much (aging) talent is still out there in large Italian cities for those of us who are searchers.

Thank you, Michael. I wish I had more leisure time when in Rome. Or more precisely, more leisure time when the tailor shops are open. Let's make sure this thread is still here next year and perhaps I will be able to add more detail.

One nice thing about Caraceni is that while Tommy C has been slowing down, his son-in-law, Guido is only in his middle-age.

There are as many shirtmakers in Roma as there are churches and soccer players. Please let's try to keep comments here to personal experience. Information passed third and fourth hand is worthless.
