Bespoke Wallet

has anyone ever given any thought to a bespoke wallet?

Such as more than just an everyday wallet, but maybe for when going out on formal occasions when you don't need to take too much with you, but none the less a wallet is called for.

Or if you do want to go with an everyday item, maybe have one made to match shoe color, or designed to keep only certain things in it so you don't end up building it up too much.

If you thought John Lobb just made bespoke shoes and boots, they will be happy to make you a wallet of any leather you like, and if you wear glasses they will make you a matching case for your spectacles.

I have no experience with Cleverley.

I have had two pairs of shoes made by Foster and am very happy with them. As to their other bespoke leather products, I should think they would be designed and cut in-house, sewn by outworkers, then finished and polished in–house. At least that is what I think happens to shoes, there and at other firms. Perhaps someone more knowledgeable than I could confirm or correct. Ready-made leather goods, like shoes, would be made elsewhere.

I once inquired about having a passport holder/wallet made and decided against it, merely because I could not justify to myself spending the money on such an object. Why not call/e-mail them and ask?

Please let us know what happens. I wonder if the shoemakers are involved in the production of pieces of luggage or if those are completely different skills. I was much impressed by Ms. Matsuda's passion for her craft and the resulting shoes...

John Lobb completely slipped my mind. I can't believe that.

Hmm..... Now only if could get some much deeper pockets and have a wallet made for every shoe.
