Ready-to-wear corduroy trousers
Pakeman's trousers are generally higher rise than is now normal. I like their moleskins.

Ah, good news!. Thank you.
Does anyone know where one could find a rtw. heavy corduroy Jacket of a weight similar to those seen on Stephen Fry and Robert Winston? I am considering a casual baggy cut, and see no need to go bespoke for this, unless this quality of cord. is unavailable rtw?....thanks..

Ralph Lauren carries such a jacket. Thick and soft. Warning: the armholes are cut very low so it may not be very comfortable for some. The store on New Bond Street does MTM, so this could be a good option.
Dear Rowly,
also check Cordings

Hectorm and David, thank you both. I am a fan of Cordings for tweed jackets and cords, but don't ever remember seeing cord. jackets. I will contact them. I have a feeling I will find what I'm looking for somewhere around Jermyn street. Of course, I will follow up on RLn. also. Thanks again, Rowly.
Regarding Pakeman cords, I find they are not "vanity sized". For example, I take a 34 in waist in levi's jeans, but my waist measures 36. I therefore take a 36 in the Pakeman cords.
Are you after a particular weight of cord? To be honest Bookster might be your best bet for English made RTW. Corduroy can be bought by the metre from Brisbane Moss as well.Rowly wrote:Does anyone know where one could find a rtw. heavy corduroy Jacket of a weight similar to those seen on Stephen Fry and Robert Winston? Yes.. i do but Cordings (brace buttons, button fly) but not Pakeman for the reason that the pattern isnt the same unfortunately..Chris Rimby wrote:The waistband treatment is certainly different on several of the Pakeman models (belt loops).
However I MUST recommend Bookster for Tweeds.. I always buy cords there nowadays as they have button fly, french bearer, brace buttons.. and.. and a fishtail high rise back.. So pleasing!!!
