Elephant leather?

OK Costi, no more elephant leather gloves for me.
By the way,my father's old gloves' leather matches jamesbd's description of elephant leather. Except that in this case it's dyed brown. It's very thick but surprisingly supple.
I apologise for the lack of pictures, but I fatally stepped on my digital camera, and my phone doesn't take pictures that are worth posting (as previous attempts have shown).
