Gentlemen

I am about to announce a new LL limited edition and a new group of artisans.

This new product opens up a new craft and is fundamental for those who have chosen the path of the elegant life. It has neither cloth or leather. What would it be?

Cheers

Michael

Metal - cufflinks?

Wood/lacquer - humidors?

I would like something related to cigars... maybe a cigar cutter?

maybe a hat? (panama, straw...)

following the cufflinks idea: studs?

I most certainly hope it is neither cigars, nor humidors!
Studs, cufflinks and buttons are all nice, but don't seem fundamental.

I sense there is more than "elegant dress" to this formulation...

In my opinion neither a cigar nor a humidor are " fundamental for those who have chosen the path of the elegant life". Otherwise, everybody who doesn't smoke would per se not be able to be elegant and that seems a little over the top to me.

However, besides from the things already mentioned, I could not really come up with something - maybe a vase for a boutonniere? But this is again not fundamental...

It must, surely, be a craft and a product which are new to Limited Editions - otherwise, if both were entirely new, the elegant life would have been in deficit of a fundamental. Maybe it is an encyclopaedia or a wardrobe plus a travelling trunk and dressing case (the latter in some super light-weight material for modern air travel)?

LL fountain pen 24 K gold, in which case all messages should be handwritten, scanned, and then, and only then, posted. The next step might be the LL stationary.

What about an Icelandic sweater, the classic of Nordic sweater? It isn't British ... but is that compulsory? It's based on Icelandic sheep, which produces an almost waterresisistant wool. Coulors are simple: black, grey and white, typically.

This is turning into a very nice wishlist, but I think we might be missing a point here: our LIVES mean more than our WARDROBES. Or do they? :P
I think MA has raised an interesting issue here: what is FUNDAMENTAL for an elegant LIFE? Shoes, suits, tweed jackets, hats, Ulsters and peccary gloves? - of course, a solid wardrobe IS fundamental! But is that all?

(NO! - there are also cufflinks, ties, pocket squares, brollies... )

Hmmm . . . . I suspect it may be olive oil or wine. But I might prefer Gruto's sweater and NJS's luggage.
