I'm surprised to hear that Raja have a poor reputation, they seem to get an excellent press. Perhaps they simply have an excellent press agent of course...
As a custom tailored customer of Ede and Ravenscroft, I'm a stranger to fully bespoke clothing. I had thought to give one of the visiting tailors a go. Not a good idea then?

Why not use Ede & Ravenscroft, since you already have a relationship there?
Raja manages the press well as you suggest: Shame that they do not manage their quality with similar diligence.

It is interesting that you mentioned Gordon Yao because he is the HK tailor whom I was referring to in my previous posting. He is great to work with – listen to your requirements carefully but at the same time not afraid to offer his professional opinions. Recently, I brought one of his jackets to my favorite local tailor for steaming and pressing. When I picked up my jacket, this local tailor said, without me asking, that he has not seen such good traditional customer tailoring for a long long time. In fact, he went on and pointed out what he meant specifically on my jacket; I learnt a few things from him that day. Currently, through my introduction, a few of friends and my wife are also using him. Needless to say, they are all very happy with his work.
As for traveling to UK, I can understand why. First, it is like bringing coal to Newcastle. Second, he has been traveling to the US with Ascot Chang (HK custom shirt maker) for years and years, I cannot see him changing travel plans at this point.
Finally, I have to agree with Concordia in general, if you are happy with your current Savile Row tailor, why change? unless as I mentioned earlier, your business takes you to HK regularly.

I fear you gentlemen are confusing the nature of custom tailoring with fully bespoke tailoring. Fully bespoke at Ede's is V. expensive. I was enquiring as to the quality of these other makers.
