What are the socks brands that a gentleman should consider?

Pantherella and Falke are two brands, which deliver a very good quality.

Gallo socks have some very elegant patterns, even though they are rather delicate.

Dore-Dore is another good brand.

I've been very pleased with Pantherella.

Never heard of Falke though, where are they made?

Also, does anyone know who makes socks for Paul Stuart?

Pantherella was sold to another company, and I think has declined over the last 5 or so years. Falke is my choice, although 'delicate' but fabulous color palette. Pricey. Gallo is poorly distributed, and I don't think as good a choice, except for their children's socks. I will be in Perugia in a week or so, and will report back on Gallo based on their shop inventory.

Falke is a German brand. I quite like their product. Always what I go for first at Le Bon Marché's infamous wall of socks.

Thanks for the web link to Falke Jackson.

Now, does the woman on the web page come with the socks? :P

90% of my socks are Falke socks; I like them a lot because they are comfortable and not very expensive. One thing that is fairly unique to Falke socks is that some styles are asymmetrical – one sock is designed for the right foot and the other for the left.

Since this has been posted in the Bespoke Forum, does anyone know if you can get bespoke socks made anywhere?

Aside from coarsely handknitted hose (made in the Shetlands and in Appalachia, among other places), I saw nothing in a 'Web search I ran some time ago. Standardly sized hose seems the closest substitute for more finely knitted hose.

Pantherella, Falke, Burlington and Ralph Lauren are the best I feel.

I suppose this thread should really be in the dressing room, rather than the bespoke forum, but in case anyone's interested I recently found a good selection of socks in the big Church's shop in the middle of London's Bond Street.
