Gentlemen,
I recently received a Panama hat from Brent Black in Hawaii and was hoping someone could recommend a way to store it. I looked online and all the hat stands I could find were poorly made.
How to store a hat?
I would put it in its hatbox (upside down) over the winter, and just sitting upright on the hatshelf in my wardrobe over summer; I do not have any special stands.
I agree with NCW - stands are otiose. Keep hats boxed up when not in regular use - keeps dust and insects off.

Gentlemen,
I appreciate your advice... Especially since I don't have to purchase anything else.

I agree with NCW for winter (non-use) storage, but not for summer. In my opinion, and from the suggestions of hat sellers, the hat should always be sitting brim up on one's hat shelf, so as not to alter the brim's shape or flatten it out in any way.
You can sit on good Brent Black Panamas without any harm - and the one in this thread looks very fine and even in colour and weave and the owner is also out of mourning for Queen Victoria. About time!!

Great looking hat Martini, I'd also add that when the hat goes into the hatbox put a hat jack in the hat as well.
