Your thoughts on the modern gentleman?

Gentlemen, I just realized Oliver Rüüge, Esq. asked about the modern gentleman of today.

Sirs, IMHO, the modern gentleman of today may not qualify as a true gentleman with an ideal nature. In terms of apparel and accoutrement, he may be dressed to look just like any gentleman, but he may or may not have the heart of a gentlement. Indeed, he need not speak with a civil tongue, be considerate to others, give way to ladies, keep his word, treat others courteously and with respect, etc. He may have the heart of a shark, but all he needs to do is dress the part of a gentleman without even a top hat, a frock coat, morning dress or evening dress, button boots or spats included, or a walking stick of any kind, including a real Malacca cane, which is getting rarer and rarer.
