What happens with the banana....ahem....does not measure up?

Is it no longer a banana? Can it no longer be sold. Perhaps it could be marketed as a small banana.

What will they measure next? And who will measure up!?

My God, this EU Banana regulations has got to be a comedic classic!!

How do these twats in the EU keep a straight face when writing such drivel?!

What are they smoking ? And what is the bananas peduncle??

" III. SIZING (Bananas)

Sizing is determined by:

- the length of the edible pulp of the fruit, expressed in centimetres and measured along the convex face from the blossom end to the base of the peduncle,

- the grade, i.e. the measurement, in millimetres, of the thickness of a transverse section of the fruit between the lateral faces and the middle, perpendicularly to the longitudinal axis.

The reference fruit for measurement of the length and grade is:

- the median finger on the outer row of the hand,

- the finger next to the cut sectioning the hand, on the outer row of the cluster.

The minimum length permitted is 14 cm and the minimum grade permitted is 27 mm. "

Now that the EU has made these ridiculous regulations causing so much food to be wasted, which country will be brave enough to carry the expense of transporting this food, which does not measure up, to the poorer countrys of the world.
No country, no doubt!
What a scandal!
