What shoecolor is most stylish under a grey suit?
I've been measured one week ago at the Parisian tailor Djay for a grey Prince of Wales check suit.

But I ask myself what kind of shoecolor is the most stylish under a grey Prince of Wales check suit?
Who can help me?
Thanks in advance.

Black calf or terracotta suede
as i have just taken my G&G MTO"s i would recomend both their vintage rioja and vintage cedar, if you want to be more adventurous then why not vintage olive and of course black goes with all!.
any color suede is good, darker browns or burgandy is good. I don't wear black shoes with plaid suits.
You can listen to others on the black shoe issue-but if you do, you're making a mistake.
I would exclude black monstrap shoes especially in pigskin or a grained leather.

Anyone have a list of some good Parisian tailors? I'd like to look at some websites to get a sense for French style vs. Italian vs. English.
thanks.
thanks.
I would prefer suede for a PoW suit in flannel or tweed and dark brown (or black) with a PoW in worsted.

Take a look at the list on my good friend Byraub's (an excellent tailor) blog.Anyone have a list of some good Parisian tailors? I'd like to look at some websites to get a sense for French style vs. Italian vs. English.

Gonzalez, de Luca, Smalto, Claude Rousseau (at Cifonelli) are all from the Camps school of the 1950s. They cut suits the way Thomas Fink would like them, close to the body.

I was wondering what to do with those black and white correspondent shoes, which I foolishly bought last year. Finally, they may have some use, after all.
thanks!
Oxblood or Cordovan, maybe tan suede as mentioned.
Thanks for the suggestions!
I have found on the website from Scheer a wonderfull dark suede monkstrap.
I think that's a nice one under a grey prince of wales check, I am on 9 July in Vienna so I can take a look at there store.
If I ordered a pair of monkstrapshoes in dark suede by Scheer I upload pictures for the LL .

Does Djay cut himself, or is he, as it is said on AAAC, an "overrated MTM tailor" ?
I like dark brown shoes with grey suits but it depends on the pattern.
