On eBay, I have come across several lots of black bowties, made for officers in the British armed forces in 1952, by a company named 'Winfields'.
I cannot find any information on this company, and I am wondering if anyone here has heard of them, or can attest to the quality of their products, especially bowties.
Winfields--has anyone heard of them?

Winfield was (is?) the own-brand label of Woolworth's. It was the middle name of the founder Frank Winfield Woolworth.
You might not want to admit to owning anything with that label, although I seem to remember the quality was acceptable given what little you paid.

Woolworth heiress Barbara Hutton, named her pink brick, Georgian style London mansion, Winfield House. Served as the residence for America's Ambassador to Great Britain.

Edward Sexton made the suits, for the male parts and the gossip columist, Elsa Maxwell, Miriam Margolyes; in the film Poor little rich girl. Barbara Hutton was played by Farrah Fawcett-Majors.
I also remember Gregory Peck’s son, played one of her husbands.
