Just as creative and elegant as his writing ability, Mr. Dunne's wardrobe was the equal. Always looking sharp in his T&A shirts, cuff links, and tortoise shell glasses Dominick Dunne will be missed.

I always looked for him on the best-dressed lists, and was invariably shocked not to find him. He was fantastically well-dressed. Does anyone know if he wrote about clothes?

As well dressed as he was he didn't write about clothing which is a shame. His passion was writing about crimes and court cases involving the rich and famous. He had several good books based on real life crimes involving high society.

To my knowledge, only in the name-dropping sense like a straight Truman Capote ("Last week when I was in London I picked up more fantastic bespoke shirts from the best shirtmaker in the world, Turnbull and Asser, before talking to more unnamed highly placed sources who told me Chandra Levy had been abducted for an Arab harem..."). I only read his later work, after he had relaunched himself as a crime writer, and his stuff came across like a more literary Sidney Sheldon -- infuriatingly hard to put down guilty pleasures with high gossip quotients but little redeeming literary value.
