Fraying Bowties

Hello everyone. This is my first post so I'll keep it short and sweet. I'm having a problem with my bow ties. The tops seem to become easily frayed by my neck when I wear them. I do shave just before putting one on, but they still show wear quickly. Is there something I can do to alleviate this? Thank you.
