I wonder if any of the much respected members of the London Lounge may be interested in the following charitable, fashionable and simply bespoke event to be held on 16th of September at The Arts Club in Dover Street, Mayfair (I have been invited as a guest and I'm sure some of you may want to come too):

Tuesday 16th September 2008

Millinery is a form of Art and the creativity shown in its conception is magnificent.
Do book tables, there are only 15 available.

Here are some exciting items already given for the auction, these are the kind that people cannot buy:

1. Ken Howard RA donate his time and a private visit to his studio , worth at least £2,000.00
2. Philip Mould (antique road show expert) will make a private view of his gallery in
Dover Street to see the Old Masters and offer Champagne whilst doing so - worth at least £1,000.00
3. David Shilling will donate some extravagant jewellery (a brooch made of Sapphires and Rubies worth at least £ 5,000.00
4. A private tour of the behind the scene of the Royal Academy with Maurice Cockerill RA (Keeper of the School) followed by a dinner for four at the Arts Club, this will reach £ 5,000.00 or more
5. Sir Peter Blake CBE has most generously donated a picture worth at least £20,000.00

The auction will be conducted by Nicholas Bonham himself from the well known auction house.

There will also be an exciting Tombola with many prizes:

1. Bottles of various luxurious spirits and vintage wines
2. Fashion Jewellery and other little sweet things
3. Luxury Leather goods and other items worth much more than the price of a ticket (£5.00 or £20.00 a strip)

7:30 pm Champagne and canapés reception - Tombola - get your tickets
8:30 pm Dinner is served
9:30 pm Auction
10:00 pm Dancing
1:00 am Carriages

Dress: Black Tie, whilst ladies are invited to wear hats, gentlemen are not unless truly extravagant! Prize will be given to the most extravagant hat.

There will be various forms of entertainment during the reception and the dinner.

The price of the dinner and dance is £95 per person and include a donation of £25.00 to the Trust or £850 per tables of ten to include a donation of £100.00 to the Trust.

For those who would like to support the charity but cannot come for the dinner, come dancing from 9:30 pm and you are welcome to attend the auction if you are willing to bid, a punch will be served from 9:30 pm and dancing will start from 10 pm. Ticket are priced at £30 person.
