Ormonde Jayne update

LInda Pilkington, the parfumeur (parfumeuse?) behind Ormond Jayne, is soon to introduce a new men's fragrance. When I stopped by her shop in late June, she described it as having been influenced by two motivations: to make use of her great affinity for Eau Sauvage ("one of the best men's scents ever made") and her determination to produce a better vetiver-based scent than any on the market. So the new one will have two vetivers (an organic naturally sourced one and a complementary "molecular" one, which she was surprised to discover in her blind testing was better than most naturally sourced ones, as well as costlier) along with some complex citrus and other elements.

At the end of the month I ran into her in Regents Park (small town, London) and she said that she'd just done her final evaluation after having left the sample to rest for a couple of weeks, and that it was ready. She hadn't yet chosen a name.

I was pleased to note (small artisanal businesses need all the support they can get) that her Isfarkand had just won an award from the design magazine Wallpaper as their scent of the year--well-deserved.

I am pleased that she has introduced another men's fragrance. Her women's ones are outstanding but the Isfarkand does not work on me.

Any news on when the new perfume comes out. I have looked on her website but it is not there yet.

I went into Ormonde Jayne yesterday to ask if this new fragrance is now out. They told me it is being released next week.

It is called Zizan and I am sure the release notes will give the bases from which it is formed. I was able to get a sample tube from them and can confirm that the strength of perfume common to most of her fragrances is there and a little goes a long way. It is my favourite from her mens range which have not appealed to me until now.
