Thank you, I've seen the Box Cavalry twills, very nice. Are the Abimelech Meltons of a high quality? Are there any other suggestions that anyone is aware of?

As it happens, some time ago TVD and I spoke independently with our cutters at Henry Poole, both of whom said that Abimelech's top end melton cloth is of a decent quality. Abimelech's market niche is military reenacting, film and tv, so much of what they make is intended for historical uniforms and the like. Indeed, Poole says it uses Abimelech melton for items of court dress and replica uniforms (something of a sideline of Poole's), as it is probably the best readily available melton around today. Apparently melton cloth of the weight and quality you will see in military museums is simply no longer manufactured.
