Selosse Extra Brut
I recently enjoyed a couple of bottles of this marvelous Champagne at l'Astrance. I really wish more producers made an extra brut. I find it to be a truly excellent companion to almost any food. Obviously, the one made by Selosse is sublime.
Astrance and Selosse Extra Brut, now that is a wonderful combination. I was one of Astrance's first customers five years ago and its just gotten better with time, except trying to get a reservation!
Anselme Selosse is the undisputed master craftsman of Champagne. HIs Extra Brut was a daily drink for many many years, until the time that it became too rare and dear.

It seems that Jacques Selosse champagne can now be had again in the United States. Here in an article from today's New York Times.

For those of you in Midtown East, I think Crush on 57th Street has a few bottles. They also carry the maderia lines from the Rare Wine Company.

Enjoyed a bottle of Version Origionale at The Ledbury in London last week - absolutely sublime. The color of apricot, simply extroadinary!
