Jacket shoulder width and cloth weight

My suits cloths average 10oz generally. This lighter weight cloth is preferred due to the warm weather in my city.

The shoulders of my jackets are also generally cut narrow. This is the house style of my tailor. I once asked if my padless shoulders can be cut wider. My tailor said it can be done but the shoulder line will "drop" due to the absence of padding and light weight cloth.

Is this "drop" desirable in a padless shoulder construction?
