I am very please to announce two new members to the distinguished londonlounge Certified Artisans Program. The two newest members of our elite fraternity come from the New York area. Please welcome Mr. Leonard Logsdail and Mr. Vincente Nicolosi.

In order to identify prospective CAP participants in the New York area, I asked the advice of some of our most senior members. Their experiences and knowledge of local artisans was determinative in this first selection from North America.

I would like to thank the members who responded to my request and consulted the LL for their time, knowledge and interest in identifying artisans of particular merit in their area.

A space will be provided in the CAP photojournal for each artisan to present his works. I hope to have these available in the near future.

Mr. Logsdail is a longtime participant of thelondonlounge forum. His availability to answer questions and participate in our discussions has been appreciated by our members. Mr. Logsdail is currently serving as President of the CTDA, Custom Designers and Tailors Association.

Mr. Nicolosi's prowess has been displayed on thelondonlounge via works commissioned by Mr. Ed Hayes. A remarkable Italian inspired country coat in heavyweight tweed graces our member's photojournal. Mr. Nicolosi is known for his un-constructed, soft tailoring style that recalls the traditions of both Naples and Sicily. What separates his work from many tailors working today is his belief in and dedication to meticulous hand craftsmanship. His cutting and fitting skill rank him among the very best tailors working today and its is with great humility that we welcome him to our club. I hope to have a complete series of photos of Mr. Nicolosi's work in the next weeks.

A sampling of Mr. Nicolosi's writing from his website (www.vincentnicolosi.com) gives us a good idea of his commitment to sartorial artistry.

"A true artist cannot mistake a real profession from a pseudo-profession.
The pseudo-artist deceives himself and wants to deceive others, giving away art which is not art at all. A real profession is one's occasion, inspiration; it is to be able to influence others finding their own individual style. And all this... is art,... that technical mastery that only a true artist knows how to reveal."

Vincente Nicolosi

These ideas have been developed on the londonlounge by many of our member's writings and they are perfectly consistent with our fundamental beliefs and aspirations.
