source(s) for Olive POW w/ Rust overcheck for odd jacket

I'm close to pulling the trigger on a vintage NOS of a darker shade of olive Prince of Wales w/ rust overcheck section of cloth to make up into an odd jacket, but wanted to make sure I wasn't missing a good alternative in the most recent books

for those of you who have seen this combination, can you recommend mills and / books I should look at to know I've made the best choice

Olive POW, w/ rust overcheck, the heavier the better

EDIT - trigger pulled on the last sizeable piece of this gameskeeper cloth in a similar pattern - 700 gr weight - Lovat

Good catch, norcal_1. Browsing shops like Joel and Son sometimes has its rewards.
Also Johnstons of Elgin has a couple of Saxony tweeds that I would say fit that bill (different shades of green Glen/PoW plaids with rust or brick overcheck). It might be worth while taking a look even if just to convince yourself that you got the better cloth.

quick story:

when I was growing up in Boston, my sister used to work for a gentleman who bought everything at the clothing store Louis and was good friends with Murray Perlstein. Louis back in those days was the store that brought Luciano Barbera and Belvest, Vestimenta, et al to America

When I got out of college, I used to go to Louis store a couple times a year just to calibrate myself to what greatness looked like, even if I couldn't afford it

I was in awe every time I saw my sister's boss or Perlstein in person, but my favorite of his was always the olive POW w/ rust overcheck jacket he wore, which back then (1980's) was probably made by Luciano Barbera. And he always wore brown suede shoes

Ah, to walk through Louis in those days, (sigh)...I only wish there were pictures of the displays back then online. Maybe his daughter will publish a book some day.

Very nice. I've been looking for a similar fabric. Shame it's the last of it. Glad to see it go to someone who clearly appreciates it. Also, great story.

Edit: given the weight of the cloth (700 grams) it does appear to be Lovat

Holland & Sherry has a very similar one in their Loch Ness Gameskeeper line, but it's lighter in weight (480 gr) so likely this is the Robert Noble gameskeeper cloth they are re-selling
