My much loved and well travelled Hackett gloves have finally been declared a bio-hazard, and if I am honest, for the last 2 cold London winters they haven't been that effective.

I'd appreciate comments regarding the merits of Dents against Chesters offering; I've purchased a pairs of CJ's for my wife and have been impressed but I understand they have a long lead-time on orders at present.

I have gloves from both Dents & Chester Jeffries. The hand stitched quality from both is very good. The only advantage of CJ is that they will make to your hand tracing so if you find it difficult to get gloves that fit then go with them. On their website CJ say they cannot guarantee delivery before Christmas so if you are in a hurry then try Dents. They both make good quality gloves, I think you will be happy with either.

Budd has a very nice selection of gloves. I thought they were a higher quality than Dents.

I have a pair of Sermoneta gloves I am happy with. I cannot compare with CJ as I have not seen them. Sermoneta have a shop in the Burlington Arcade. You get a 10% discount if you are a friend of the Royal Academy.
