Do any members ever wear kilts for day wear?

I currently only wear mine as evening wear (ie instead of a dinner jacket) with a Bonnie Prince Charlie jacket and waistcoat but I'm interested in wearing it during the day. This would mean it would serve instead of a morning suit, but also that it could be worn more casually.

There are some fantastic shots of the DoW (him again!) wearing his kilt fairly casually, including one with a polo neck under a tweed jacket, which I am, to be perfectly honest, thinking of emulating.

RTW versions of 'day' jackets tend to be in a very boring lovat green, which I feel could be easily improved upon. So first I have to pick a cloth (which obviously must work with my tartan) and then I must find a tailor who can cut such a jacket. I'm conscious that Dege & Skinner have experience in the matter, but I'm keen to have a comfortable jacket, not a heavily structured one.

Any thoughts?

Meyer & Mortimer (Jones Chalk & Dawson) have a long history of serving Scottish clients, civilian or military. Mortimer used to supply Prince Albert, Queen Victoria's consort, with brooches, skean dhus, dirks etc...I have often seen elements of Scottish dress around the shop.
