I noticed that during the summer people, regardless of how bad or well they are dressed tend to wear their sunglasses everywhere, even indoors. When I am wearing sunglasses and enter a building I will take them off. It is mostly women I believe I have seen wear sunglasses all the time but many men do too. In the UK I even saw women wearing sunglasses when it was almost dark as if they were Anna Wintour or something... Carelessness or 'Cool' Factor? What do you think?
Do you take yours off when entering a building? Or perhaps you don't wear sunglasses at all but rather a panama hat or something similar? Does it upset you to see people wear sunglasses indoors or at night?
The reason why one should take off one's sunglasses inside a building I think is because one most likely going to talk or interact with a person inside that building and wearing sunglasses is avoiding eye contact or 'hiding' behind them. But it also seems as ridiculous to me as walking inside some building with an open umbrella over one's head.

Since you posted the thread in the "Structure of Style" section, let's address the style aspect of the matter: borrowing the pose of an imaginary celebrity who hides behind sunglasses for the sake of "anonymity" may be the reflex of a strong craving for attention and uncertainty about being able to raise people's interest naturally. Hence, any possible manifestation of Style is blocked by a subtle form of imposture.
Unless, of course, one has diagnosed photophobia... often a "celebrity" condition, as well, caused by flashlights

If you have a Golden Retriever in harness and a white cane, it's a fine look. Otherwise, awful.

Sunglasses worn indoors are suspect. It can mean you're trying to conceal bloodshot eyes from drinking too much, doing drugs, trying to avoid being slapped with a summons by a process server, or wary of a
run-in with a collector from the mob for not paying your debts. Women wear sunglasses indoors for much the same reasons, or because they have an Audrey Hepburn fixation. If the eyes are the windows
of the soul, a glimpse usually elicits a genuine smile. Hiding behind Ray-Bans seldom gets any response
at all.
