It's great news that this traditional industry is doing so well in Japan. When I lived in Taiwan, some of my more elderly Taiwanese friends used to fly to Japan to have suits made; they were very well dressed.For many years now, Japan has just as much bespoke as Italy. Bespoke in Japan is just as excellent and just as handmade as bespoke in France and Italy for less money than in France and Italy.
Tell us more about bespoke tailoring in Japan; are customers usually "old faithfuls", or do young professionals start to use their services soon after graduation? Are there many apprentices learning to be cutters and tailors? How would a very well made Japanese bespoke suit compare to an upmarket RTW suit (say, Armani or Zegna), regarding price?
