Sorry I was unclear. I meant that some HK makers charge prices comparable to Poland, which makes for probably an extra 25% margin, based on a comparison of IT labor costs (the only one in which I am conversant).
As for the joys of local supply over here... yeah, it's pretty good, but only as far as shirts and alterations. Anything else is just too much for the maturity of local demand. People here just buy ugly Hugo Boss and wear it, sometimes without alterations. I had a major row with a Zegna sales lady in the Zegna flagship in Warsaw. I just got really upset at the way in which she was counseling a poor guy who was laying down USD 1.500 for a sportscoat. Basically, she was fittin ghte poor bastard one size up.
