Michael, may I suggest that in the portrait he is wearing the "wrong" tie and knot with the morning suit and wing collar shirt? But I´m willing to stand corrected; maybe he was painted in character while playing a butler´s role or maybe it was just a license that only Central European dandies could pull off.
