Kamil, those new cap toes of yours are deceivingly simple. Even to the mildly trained eye, the tall top line, contoured quarters, curved shank, substantial stacked heel, and irregular back strap are "screaming¨: great quality bespoke.

Thanks, Hectorm. I am pleased to report that the shoes are extremely comfortable. The fit is ideal - very close, but not too tight (this is my subjective preference). This artisan has a well-deserved reputation for making particularly comfortable shoes which is due, among other things, to extensive research he had done together with a professor of orthopaedics many years ago. He understands how the foot bone system works both when you stand and when in motion, and shapes the the shoe in such a way that the foot is optimally supported from the anatomical point of view. At the same time, as you kindly implied, the shoes tend to be visually attractive

Just to chime in with my experiences with Mr. Januszkiewicz. My fiance is Polish and was fortunately happy to act as a translator for me. As was stated earlier, Mr. Januszkiewicz speaks no English. He also does not call or ship internationally so I had one of the couriers who regularly got between Poland and London pick up my shoes for me.





The first were the burgundy pair, and I found that they weren't as well fitted as I would have liked. I ended up having to take them back to Mr. Januszkiewicz who managed to get them where they are now which is very comfortable. The black pair was made after the first pair with the lessons learned. They're very comfortable indeed.

Overall I'm happy with mine. If he were closer or my future in-laws lived in Warsaw I'd get more made by him.

Regarding the recent thread about Hungarian Rozsnyai shoes (viewtopic.php?f=4&t=11426), I thought I would share a couple of pictures of my double-stitched derbies by Januszkiewicz for comparison. In Poland this kind of stitching, whether double or triple, is called "the Tirol stitching".
However, when I try uploading the (<265k) files, I get the message "Sorry, the board attachment quota has been reached."
What seems to be the problem?

Dear Kamil,

very nice shoes, thank you for posting. The effect works well with jeans in my eyes, and traditional clothing - the name "Tirol stitching" is referring to the latter.

Thank God for style sites. If not for them, Januszkiewicz would have plied his trade in relative obscurity, only known by a discerning few. Though he's advanced in years and I hear has no relative to carry the torch, his craft will live through these photos.
