Jiona's beautiful Norwegians inspire me to ask about other chasse models besides the original and EG's Dover. I am contemplating having Vass make me a triple soled reverse welted model that approximates the chasse, because I like this configuration so much.

But what about the Italians: are there any photos out there of existing Norwegian construction models like Jiona's?

I have a pair of John Lobb Bordor which also features split toe, with raised apron. I was given to understand by JL that the raised apron is also stitched with boar bristle as with the EG Dovers.

They are double sole, and extremely sturdy, and comfortable.

The Bordor is indeed an excellent shoe, and you are correct that the method of construction for the apron and toe seams is identical to that used on the EG Dover. However, since the side panels underneath the apron are different pieces of leather from the quarters, Bordor is a demi-chasse rather than a chasse.

Please excuse this diversion into pedantry, but another member has told me on another forum that pedantry is in my nature.
