the correct gorge

I am curious to know if there is a method for determining the most satisfying gorge angle. Does it relate to the dimensions of other aspects of the jacket, the anatomy, or is it simply a question of taste? Also, which angle and height flatter which body types? I'm sure it varies greatly depending on button configuration, SB or DB and so on, but if some general principle exists I would be glad to know it. Thanks.
