Vox,
Very elegant.
I can't even see the suit in the picture on my screen. But I absolutely can see the beautifully cut shirt collar and tie Mr Hammick wears to perfection. My eye goes straight from this center to his very noble face.
I can imagine the suit is very nice as well, it seems to be. But I don't really need to see it because I've seen Mr Hammick instead.
Cheers

Hah..you'll need a bigger screen to see all the details in photographs that I post.
If this photo is typical, he also favored showing a very generous amount of shirt cuff. Contra the lore that many SR firms advocated showing none or very little.

Based on the trouser legs, it may be from the 70s. Which could account for a few other minor tweaks.
I saw him only once. I was curious (some decades ago) about Huntsman, and decided I'd poke around while pretending to shop for ties. A useful strategy in SR shops.
Hammick was there, and compared to most other tailors on the Row, he looked like a coat-hanger walking around. Very thin, with wiry shoulders, and tons of energy. The house style fit him very nicely.

If you save the photo to your phone you can see it. It is very very nice.
You can also right click on the photo and open it in a new browser tab.
Michael, how about using that tweed infront of his left hand for inspiration?
Looks like a lovely, deep, aqua blue colour of sorts with a beautiful crimson check and a more subtle blue check as well.
Best,
J

A lifetime ago I interviewed with Mr Hammick. Ultimately I went elsewhere to work. But every time I would see him on Savile row, he always had time to stop and ask how I was doing. A true gentleman.
Also, this is a rare photograph. I seem to recall he usually only wore a silver gray tie!!! But I might be wrong. It was a long time ago!!!
