I used to think that clothes were not really that important in the general scheme of things today.
But once again, proven stupid.
This cutting review of poor Zuckerberg tells me otherwise.
It appears the world demands power wear in its men, not little men in boys wear.
Very confusing.

This is too cruel.
I think this merely illustrates the point that you need to know yourself and dress accordingly. If MZ had not made such a big deal out of continuing to brand himself in T-shirts and hoodies long after he made his first billion (and thus pointedly implying that all those stuffy old men in suits were dinosaurs), it would not look so cynical for him to be showing respect for Congress by dressing for the occasion. But he seems pretty unconvincing and inauthentic in business dress. Conversely it's hard to credit him with mature judgment when he's rocking the hoodie. Of course, he has the billions (so far) and I don't (nor, I suppose, does the writer in The Cut).
As for the article itself, I'm reminded that Lenny Bruce said, "I don't satirize the obvious."

That article is absurd. I am reminded of two pioneers and business paradigm-shapers, both notorious for their casual dress, who donned sober suits to testify to Congress about their sectors during times when US law needed to catch up with the changes in business cycles. They both created billions of dollars of value for their shareholders, tax revenue, employment, and enabled the United States to somersault others in these sectors. As they aged, they were respected for their contributions to the country. These were a young Bill Gates, and also Howard Hughes. I'm not defending Facebook getting played by Cambridge Analytica however we are in one of those transformative moments of time and geo-politics where every being and institution has to play catch-up. Zuckerberg created a product billions of people use and enjoy, something that is a foundation of capitalism. He will "grow into his suit;" he certainly has the business chops to have earned it.
Yes; the article could have done without the exceedingly juvenile, polemic tone.
I have often reflected on the fact that MR Zuck, while a hugely successful entrepreneur, has appalling taste in clothes but, ultimately, so do some of my best friends.

I’m very sympathetic to Zuckerberg but no matter how you cut it, he’s an awkward duck in a suit.
In my view, no matter what suit you put him in, he will always appear uncomfortable and inauthentic in it.
I much prefer him in his T shirts. But honestly, he still appears extraterrestrial no matter what he wears. What can I say....? But that’s my problem, not his.
I suppose that we all eventually regress to the mean in our dress, in search of home, to where we belong.
One of the more engaging recent Congressional testimonies, dear to my heart really, is Pharma Bro. I do think that he wore his suit better than Zuckerberg , but hell, he didn’t wear a tie. And there are consequences....
Still, I don’t think that failing to wear a tie before Congress called for a 7 year sentence in Federal prison. Nor to have ones Wu-Tang album seized. That certainly suggests Government overreach. Please.

Here you have it. The bare basics. Just a T-shirt. And a pair of pants.
So...?
