Backwards and in High Heels

I know this is the Great Photos sub forum, but forgive a small diversion.

I came across this video in connection with Miss Rogers's dance partner (whose name escapes me for a moment )

I do rather like the music and (as the young folk have it) the video mashup - but what is quite astounding IMHO is that dress, which moves in perfect harmony with the equally impressive dance routine. I hope you enjoy it as much as I did.

I think Astaire is just about to break out in Irving Berlin's "Isn't it a lovely day to be caught in the rain"...classic scene and one of my faves from "Top Hat."

Female dancers usually have issues with loose garments because the waves of fabric keep on moving once they have stopped. That could also be used to their advantage to create fluidity if they know how to do it. Ms. Rogers is obviously an authority to this respect.
Looking at her dress I suspect that the hem of her skirt could be somehow strategically "loaded". During the late 70s and early 80s I had a tailor who used to insert thin flat pieces of lead to the bottom of my jacket and overcoat vents to achieve a "plumb" effect and avoid inelegant flapping even under the most rushed of situations.
