This is what I am giving my tailor to make this summer. It is a variant of the British Warm and was popular in the 30s. I have a stout piece of Loden for it or maybe the Everest Cashmere would do well.

No breast pocket. Storm pockets. Reversible collar or shawl collar with fur. Linen lining. Should be nice.

A fur collar could be most impressive. What type of fur? (Is bear sufficiently 'Canadien'?)

I decided I needed a real cold weather coat some years ago. Since we so rarely get truly arctic weather in the UK I thought a Swedish M1909 military surplus would do the trick. It has since got much more wear than Id anticipated largely, I think, on account of the rather dramatic (sheepskin) collar.
