Have now completely moved to Nakaya pens - being a left hander I buy the pens in the U.S. and have the nib work done before they are shipped over.Its a perfect combination.

The pens I carry in my pocket every day are aluminium and brass Kaweco Sport models. I have fancier pens at home but don't use them that much, if I'm honest.

while I had the Kaweco sport some time for everyday carry, I moved to the less "bulky" Kaweco brass fountain pen, which is made of uncoated brass. It ages when used but I like its patina. Nothing precious indeed, but small enough to fit in any pocket...

I am chauvinistically loyal to Conway Stewart, having been fortunate enough to purchase several before the firm closed.
I have never had a problem with them and would be completely lost if I had to purchase a fountain pen from a new manufacturer

During a trip to New York, I visited the Pen Hospital in lower Manhattan. I pen that I tried and was very impressed with was the Pilot Falcon. Great nib and very expressive.

I recently picked up a Sailor "Professional Gear" special edition in a lovely brown "Earth" color. It has a 21k nib and it a wonder to write with. Very highly recommended.

I'm also an enthusiast of Conway Stewart and saddened by their closure. My Wellington has served me well.

Yes. I used to use emerald green. I can't remember the maker … maybe Parker or Pelikan.
Very nice and expressive.
My go-to fountain pen for years was Omas until the nib went funny.
It needs a doctor but still I enjoyed using that pen in a Fine nib.

Which model would you recommend for entry level while still having a good writing nib of theirs but without the fireworks of the barrel handwork, etc. ??

All my Nakaya pens are second hand and all purchased from the same shop in the USA. They are fully guaranteed. Sometimes you pay import tax on them and sometime not - its a lottery .Have a look at this link.
