First bespoke effort

Great story Tomm! Nice to see another LL member chronicling their first bespoke journey.

Very nice looking suit, the back is extremely well done. I would only change the button spacing to make the lower button fall into line with the bottom pockets, and a touch more room in the trousers, i.e a bit less taper, and a slightly higher waist. Otherwise, an exemplary first attempt!

The suit looks great.

I am going to take an opposite stance from some of the other (admittedly more knowledgeable) members. I think your pants look great! I am about your age (I think), and am a true believer in the slimmer, more tapered pant. I like them for a few reasons...

First of all, as a kid I grew up in jeans and other trim, low cut pants. This might not be considered terribly elegant, but it is my history. Because of this, I find the trimmer, lower rise pant very comfortable and natural. I feel as though I am able to be myself in pants like this. I think comfort in ones clothing is a prime factor in elegance, more so even than the most elegant cut. If you grew up the same, I imagine that you will grow very quickly to like your new trimmer pants.

Second of all, I like to wear my pants a bit on the short side. I think Alden has touched on this in many threads, but to me a slightly shorter pant makes a person look more alert and less droopy. There is nothing less aesthetically pleasing to me than a short, wide bottomed pant, so trim is the way to go here.

Third, I really like shoes. I want to see them. I never have like the idea of covering a huge portion of your foot with a pant cuff. maybe this is a personal quirk, but with the money and care that we all put into our shoes, I say better seen than not.

Again, the suit looks great, and I think your enjoyment will grow because of the pant choices you made.

You favour quite a well fitted coat - did you not have inside pockets in the jecket or do you not use them?

The trousers looked slightly more relaxed albeit tapered.
