Is buttoning the last button on a DB 3 x 2 always bad? What about for warmth?

I do it more and more. Almost always with a blazer. Less often, but still occasionally, with a suit. It had never occurred to me until I noticed that my new blazer had both buttons unshanked to permit this (buttons not meant to be buttoned were sunk so as to lie flat). I tried buttoning the bottom button and liked how it looked.

I have since found that this was at one time quite common and actually proper, even if today it is no longer the fashion.

Entirely permissable and correct to button all buttons. Matter of preference, unlike buttoning certain buttons on a single breasted.

Obviously the matter does become more complicated with Kent style DBs where obviously the upper button remains open.
